Thunder Fox is one of those old-school Genesis action games that somehow nails the "one guy vs. an army" vibe without feeling cheap. You start off with this beefy commando dude who can roll, jump, and blast his way through waves of enemies—somehow it never gets old watching him somersault over gunfire while unloading a machine gun.
The first level drops you right into a jungle base, and within seconds you're ducking behind crates, picking off soldiers, and figuring out which weapons actually work for your playstyle (spoiler: the flamethrower is ridiculous in tight spaces). The platforming bits can be brutal—miss a jump and you're toast—but the controls are tight enough that it feels fair when you mess up.
What I love is how chaotic it gets later on: helicopters, turrets, even tanks show up, and you're just this lone guy flipping around like an action movie hero. It’s got that classic '90s arcade energy where everything’s over-the-top but still demands some strategy. If you dig run-and-gun games with a side of platforming chaos, this one’s a blast.
