So, Thor: God of Thunder on the DS—it’s exactly what it sounds like. You’re Thor, smashing frost giants and trolls with Mjolnir in side-scrolling beat-em-up action. The combat’s pretty satisfying—hammer throws feel weighty, and there’s a decent mix of light/heavy attacks. Early on, you’re mostly plowing through waves of enemies in Asgard, but later levels throw in some platforming and even a few boss fights that actually make you think (a little).
Graphics are solid for a DS game—lots of chunky, comic-book-style designs, and Thor’s animations have this nice heft to them. The story’s basically a watered-down version of the movie plot, but hey, it gives you an excuse to lightning-blast stuff. Not gonna lie, some sections drag with repetitive enemies, but tossing your hammer into a crowd never gets old.
If you’re into mindless, hammer-swinging fun, this one’s a decent time-killer.
