Ever wanted to punch evil in the face while spouting ridiculous one-liners? That’s basically The Tick on Sega Genesis in a nutshell. You play as the big, blue, indestructible goofball from the comics, bouncing through levels that feel like someone took a Saturday morning cartoon and smashed it into a side-scroller.
The first thing you’ll notice is how absurdly 90s it all feels—bright colors, chunky sprites, and enemies that look like they escaped from a rejected toy line. The Tick’s got his usual moves—jumping, punching, and that weird little spin attack—but the real fun is in the dumb little details, like how he yells "SPOON!" when he swings at bad guys.
It’s not the hardest platformer out there, but some of the later levels get sneaky with their enemy placements. And yeah, the soundtrack’s got that classic Genesis twang—the kind that sticks in your head long after you turn it off. If you’re into weird, nostalgic superhero games, this one’s a solid time. Just don’t expect it to take itself seriously.
