Man, The Super Shinobi II (or Shinobi III depending on where you lived) is one of those Genesis games that just nails the ninja fantasy. Right from the first stage, you're sprinting across rooftops, slicing dudes with your sword, and tossing shurikens like they're going out of style. The controls are tight—wall jumps actually feel good, which wasn't always a given back then.

Some levels throw curveballs, like horseback archery or that surfing section everyone either loves or hates. And the music? Absolute fire. That industrial-techno ninja soundtrack still slaps decades later. Just don't get too cocky—enemies love to cheap-shot you from off-screen if you're not careful.

It's not the hardest game in the series, but it's the one where everything just clicks. If you've got a Genesis collecting dust, this is the cart to blow on.
