Oh man, The Ren & Stimpy Show Presents Stimpy's Invention is exactly as weird and janky as you'd expect from a 90s licensed game—in the best way possible. You play as Stimpy running through these bizarre levels full of random junk like giant vacuum cleaners and mutant hamsters, all while that signature gross-out cartoon art style oozes from every pixel.

The controls take some getting used to (Stimpy slides around like he's on buttered toast), but once you adjust, there's something oddly satisfying about bouncing on spring-loaded plungers or getting launched by malfunctioning inventions. Some of the platforming bits are frustratingly precise, but the ridiculous sound effects and Ren's constant heckling in the background make it hard to stay mad.

If you grew up watching the show, you'll spot tons of references crammed in—though fair warning, the "Powdered Toast Man" level is way harder than it has any right to be. It's not the most polished Genesis game out there, but it nails that specific brand of chaotic Ren & Stimpy energy. Just don't blame me when you get stuck on that one spinning gear section for half an hour.
