The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks game

Okay, so Spirit Tracks is that weird Zelda game where Link drives a train—sounds gimmicky, but it actually works? You start off getting railroaded (ha) into becoming an engineer, and before long you're chugging across this kinda steampunk-ish Hyrule, blowing the train whistle at bokoblins on the tracks.

The touch controls feel surprisingly natural—you tap where you want Link to go, slash with the stylus, even play the pan flute by actually blowing into the DS mic (embarrassing if you're on public transit). The train stuff starts simple but gets wild later—upgrading your engine, hauling passengers who complain if you crash, even doing cannon battles while moving. Zelda's a ghost this time too, which leads to some hilarious possession puzzles.

It's got that classic Zelda dungeon flow—find item, use item to beat boss—but the train overworld makes exploration feel different. You'll either love the slower pace or miss sailing from Wind Waker. Either way, that final duet with Zelda to summon the Lokomo song? Chills.
