Remember that old Sega Genesis version of The Jungle Book? It’s way more fun than it had any right to be. You start off as Mowgli bouncing through vines and dodging monkeys—standard platformer stuff—but then you pick up coconuts to throw at enemies, and suddenly it clicks. The controls are a little floaty at first, but once you get the hang of swinging from branches, it feels surprisingly smooth.

The music’s got that classic Disney charm, all bouncy and bright, and the levels actually look like they’re ripped straight from the movie. Kaa’s level? Creepy in the best way. The difficulty spikes hard near the end, though—good luck with that final Shere Khan fight without save states.

It’s not the deepest game, but for a licensed Disney platformer from the ‘90s, it holds up better than most. Just don’t expect Baloo to help much beyond moral support.
