Man, The Itchy and Scratchy Game is pure 90s chaos in cartridge form. You jump right into this side-scroller as Itchy, and within seconds you're either smashing Scratchy with anvils or getting sliced up by his ridiculous contraptions. The levels feel ripped straight from the cartoon—one minute you're dodging falling pianos, the next you're riding a rocket through a junkyard.
The controls take a second to get used to (why does Itchy slide so much?), but once you get the rhythm, it's stupidly satisfying to land those over-the-top kills. The graphics are bright and jagged in that classic Genesis way, and the music’s got that bouncy, slightly unhinged energy that fits the show perfectly. Just don’t expect deep strategy—this is all about reflexes and laughing at how absurdly violent it gets.
If you grew up watching these two tear each other apart, it’s a nostalgia trip worth playing for the sheer ridiculousness alone.
