Man, this game is pure 90s Batman nostalgia. You jump right into Gotham’s grimy streets, punching thugs and dodging Joker’s ridiculous exploding jack-in-the-box traps. The pixel art nails the animated series vibe—dark purples, moody blues, and those little yellow utility belt pouches on Batman’s sprite.
What surprised me is how tough it gets. One minute you’re casually batarang-ing goons, the next you’re sweating through a platforming section over acid pits while Two-Face’s goons shoot at you. Robin’s faster but squishier, Batman’s a tank but slower—took me a few tries to figure out who worked better for which levels.
And the soundtrack? That bass-heavy Genesis synth absolutely slaps, especially during the boss fights. Just don’t expect to breeze through it—this one’s got that classic “throw your controller” difficulty spike in later stages. Still, nailing a perfect run through the museum level with all the hidden upgrades feels amazing.
