Man, this game is pure 90s Batman nostalgia. You start off swinging through Gotham's neon-lit streets, and right away you can tell they nailed the comic book vibe—everything's got that exaggerated, moody look straight out of the animated series. The first level throws you against Two-Face's goons, and man do those thugs love jumping out from behind crates when you least expect it.
What surprised me was how different Batman and Robin actually play. Robin's faster but weaker, while Batman hits like a truck but moves like he's got lead in his boots. Took me a few deaths to realize you can't just button-mash—those batarangs have serious delay before they come back, so timing matters way more than in other beat 'em ups.
And the soundtrack? Absolute banger. That industrial-synth Joker theme still gets stuck in my head. Just don't get too cocky when you reach the Batcave level—those conveyor belts and laser grids will humble you real quick. This is one of those Genesis titles that still holds up if you're into punishing-but-fair action games.
