About Tel-tel Stadium (japan)
Tel-Tel Stadium was a Japan only release for the Sega Genesis, also known as the Mega Drive. It came out in 1990, published by Sega. This places it among the many early titles that explored what the 16 bit hardware could do, offering a particular kind of sports experience distinct from the more common baseball or football games of the time.
You control a team of players in a futuristic sport that mixes elements of soccer and handball. The main objective is to score more goals than the opposing team within the time limit. A signature mechanic is the ability to pass the ball between your players with quick button presses, setting up plays. Another is the way you can charge a shot by holding a button, releasing a more powerful but slower moving ball. The game moves at a fast pace, and the computer opponents can be quite aggressive, making possession challenging. It feels like a frantic, arcade style contest where a single stolen pass can immediately turn the game around.
