About Tecmo World Cup '92 (japan)
Tecmo World Cup '92 came out for the Sega Genesis in 1992, developed and published by Tecmo. It was part of that wave of early 90s sports games on the system, competing for attention among soccer fans.
You control a team of soccer players, moving them around the field to score goals against the opposing team. The main objective is to win each match and progress through the tournament. A couple of its mechanics stand out: the ability to perform sliding tackles to dispossess opponents, and a unique power shot that you can charge up for a more powerful, if less accurate, strike on goal. The game moves at a brisk pace, and the computer opponents can be quite aggressive, making it a challenging experience. It feels fast and physical, a game where a well-timed tackle is as satisfying as a goal.
