About Team Usa Basketball (usa, Europe)
Team USA Basketball came out for the Sega Genesis in 1992, published by Electronic Arts. It was one of the many sports titles on the system that tried to capture the energy of a real world event, in this case the famous Olympic team.
You control the entire USA squad, moving your selected player with the D-pad and passing or shooting with the face buttons. The main goal is to win each game by outscoring the opposing European national teams. Key mechanics include calling for alley oops for flashy dunks and using a turbo button for a temporary burst of speed. The game moves at a fast pace, and the computer opponents can be surprisingly aggressive on defense. It feels like a quick, arcade style version of basketball where a single steal can lead to an immediate fast break.
