About Taz-mania (world)
Taz-Mania came out for the Sega Genesis in 1992, developed and published by Sega. It was one of many platformers based on popular cartoons that filled the shelves back then, a familiar sight for anyone renting games on a weekend.
You control the Tasmanian Devil, Taz, through levels that scroll left to right. Your main goal is simply to get to the end of each stage. Your primary move is the spin attack, which you use to defeat most enemies and break open certain objects. You also jump across platforms, sometimes over bottomless pits, and collect items like extra lives and health-restoring meat. The game moves at a brisk pace, and the difficulty can spike unexpectedly in later areas, especially with some tricky enemy placements. Playing it feels like a chaotic dash where you are constantly spinning to survive.
