About Tatsujin ~ Truxton (world)
Tatsujin, known as Truxton outside Japan, came out for the Sega Genesis in 1989 from developer Toaplan. It was part of that early wave of shooters that helped define the console's library, a time when the genre was testing the limits of 16-bit hardware.
You pilot a lone ship against an alien armada, aiming to destroy the enemy core on each planet. Your main weapons are a standard shot, a wide spread, and a powerful laser; collecting colored power-up capsules cycles through them. The screen scrolls vertically, packed with intricate enemy patterns and dense bullet clouds. The pacing is relentless, and the difficulty is severe, demanding precise movement and quick weapon selection. Surviving a stage feels like a genuine accomplishment, a tense and focused effort against overwhelming odds.
