Talmit’s Adventure Game

Man, Talmit's Adventure is one of those Genesis platformers that just oozes charm—even if it kicks your butt at first. You start off in this bright, chunky pixel world, jumping between floating platforms and dodging these weird little enemies that look like they escaped from an 80s cartoon. The controls take a second to get used to (that old-school inertia is real), but once it clicks, you’ll be bouncing off mushrooms and collecting gems like it’s 1993.
The levels get surprisingly tricky—expect a few cheap deaths from spikes you didn’t see coming—but there’s something satisfying about nailing a tough section after a dozen tries. And the music? Pure Sega synth goodness. It’s not as famous as Sonic or Streets of Rage, but if you dig hidden retro gems, this one’s worth dusting off the cartridge for.
