Man, T2 – The Arcade Game on Genesis is one of those licensed games that actually gets it right. You jump in as the T-800, blasting through waves of enemies with that chunky Genesis shotgun sound—you know the one. The first level throws you right into a shootout in some neon-lit alley, and it feels like you’re playing a stripped-down version of the arcade cabinet (minus the quarter-munching).
It’s got that classic run-and-gun chaos—dodging bullets, taking cover behind cars that explode way too easily, and occasionally mowing down enemies with the minigun like you’re Arnold himself. Some of the sprite work still holds up, especially the T-1000’s liquid metal animations. Just don’t expect deep strategy—this is pure ‘90s arcade action, complete with cheesy digitized voice clips.
If you’ve got a soft spot for Terminator or just miss when licensed games weren’t afterthoughts, this one’s a blast for a quick nostalgia trip.
