About T2 - The Arcade Game (beta)
I remember trying out the beta version of T2: The Arcade Game on the Sega Genesis, which never got a full release. It was developed by Probe Software and published by LJN, arriving during that wave of early 90s movie tie ins. The Genesis library was full of action games, and this one aimed to bring the arcade cabinet's light gun experience home without the peripheral.
You control a lone soldier fighting through Skynet's forces, moving automatically from one screen to the next. Your main goal is to survive each stage by shooting every Terminator and robot that appears, aiming to clear the area before advancing. The gameplay focuses on quick targeting and rapid fire; you use a standard controller to aim a crosshair and shoot, which feels different from the arcade's light gun. The pacing is relentless, with enemies swarming constantly, and the difficulty spikes quickly. It feels like a constant test of your reflexes and accuracy under pressure.
