Superman - The Man of Steel on the Genesis is one of those early superhero games that feels ambitious but kinda rough around the edges. You start off flying around Metropolis (which, honestly, looks more like a bunch of gray boxes than a city), punching robots and rescuing civilians. The controls take some getting used to—Superman handles like he’s on ice skates at first, but you’ll adjust.
There’s a weird mix of side-scrolling beat-em-up and awkward flight sections where you dodge missiles. The music’s decent, at least—that classic Genesis bass punch. And yeah, you get to throw cars at enemies, which never gets old. Just don’t expect it to hold up like the later Superman games. It’s a nostalgia trip with all the jank that implies.
