Super Monaco GP is one of those Genesis racers that still holds up—it’s got that perfect mix of arcade speed and just enough sim elements to make you feel like you’re actually wrestling with an F1 car. The first thing you’ll notice is how twitchy the handling is, especially at high speed, but once you get used to it, nailing those tight Monaco turns feels incredible.
You’ve got two main ways to play: arcade mode for quick races or the full championship, where you sign with a team (backmarkers like Coloni or top-tier McLaren) and grind through a whole season. The AI isn’t pushovers either—they’ll shove you into the barriers if you leave the door open. And yeah, the graphics are simple by today’s standards, but the sense of speed? Still unmatched.
If you’ve got a Genesis lying around, this one’s worth dusting off.
