Super League (japan) Game

Super League on the Genesis (or Mega Drive, if you're fancy) is one of those early '90s Japanese sports games that feels like it was made by people who'd only heard about soccer secondhand. The players move in stiff little bursts, the ball physics are hilariously unpredictable, and the crowd noise sounds like someone recorded a vacuum cleaner. But that's half the charm.
You pick from a handful of national teams—none officially licensed, so don't expect real players—and dive into matches that play out like a fever dream of 16-bit soccer. Slide tackles send opponents flying, shots either crawl along the ground or rocket into the stratosphere, and the goalkeepers might as well be made of wet cardboard. It's janky, but there's something weirdly satisfying about how chaotic it gets.
If you're into retro sports games, this one's a fun relic—just don't go in expecting FIFA.
