Super Baseball 2020 is what happens if you took regular baseball, strapped jetpacks to half the players, and let robots pitch fastballs at 200 mph. The field’s got this neon cyberpunk vibe, batters swing with mechanical arms, and yeah—some of the outfielders are literally floating drones. First time I played, I accidentally sent a robot batter flying into the stands after a wild hit. Turns out they don’t just hit homers, they sometimes explode on impact.
It’s ridiculous in the best way. Pitches come in like missiles, and if you time it right, you can knock the ball so far it bounces off the stadium’s force field. The teams are split between cyborgs (fast but fragile) and full robots (slow but tanky), so picking your lineup actually matters. Just don’t expect anything close to real baseball rules—this is pure arcade chaos.
Still holds up if you’re into over-the-top retro sports games. Just maybe don’t play it sober.
