Story of Thor (or Beyond Oasis if you're not in Spain) is one of those Genesis action-RPGs that feels way ahead of its time. You play as this kid who stumbles on a magic armlet, and suddenly you're summoning elemental spirits to smash skeletons, freeze lakes, or burn through vines blocking your path. The combat's got this satisfying weight to it—sword swings feel chunky, and dodging at the last second actually matters.

What really stuck with me was how alive the world feels. There's no boring grid-based movement—you're running through dense jungles, creepy tombs, and bustling towns where NPCs actually have little routines. And that soundtrack? Pure 16-bit magic, all tribal drums and moody synths that somehow make digging through pots for healing fruit feel epic.

It's got that classic "start weak, end up overpowered" progression where your first hour is mostly getting wrecked by bats, but by the end you're calling down lightning storms on giant scorpions.
