About Star Wars - The Force Unleashed Ii (e)
I picked up Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II on the Nintendo DS back in 2010, a LucasArts release that came out alongside the bigger console versions. It was a time when the DS library was full of these ambitious, sometimes experimental, adaptations of major franchises, trying to fit a grand story onto the small screens. This one aimed to deliver a Star Wars action experience right in your hands.
You control Starkiller, a clone of Darth Vader's secret apprentice, and your main goal is to find the woman you remember, Juno Eclipse, while being hunted by your creator. The gameplay is built around moving through side-scrolling levels, using a lightsaber for direct combat and the Force for things like pushing enemies off ledges or pulling them toward you. You also solve environmental puzzles by manipulating objects with Force Grip to clear your path. The pacing is fairly quick, with a difficulty that can spike during some of the boss fights against familiar Star Wars villains. It feels like a condensed, portable version of a power fantasy, where you are constantly switching between slashing with your saber and unleashing a wave of telekinetic chaos.
