Okay, so Star Trek: Deep Space 9 on the Genesis is... an experience. You start off docked at the station, and right away, the pixel art nails that 90s Trek vibe—Bajoran ships, Cardassian architecture, all that jazz. The first mission throws you into a weird mix of point-and-click diplomacy and clunky space combat. Like, one minute you're negotiating with Quark over some stolen tech, the next you're wrestling with the Defiant's controls while Klingon disruptors light up your shields.

It’s janky in that classic Genesis way—photon torpedoes feel like throwing wet noodles until you get the timing down—but there’s something charming about how it mashes up adventure and arcade-y dogfights. And yeah, the voice clips are hilariously compressed. "WE MUST PROTECT THE WORMHOLE" sounds like someone yelling through a tin can, but it’s weirdly endearing.

Not gonna lie, it’s more fun if you’re already a DS9 fan. Spotting Dax’s sprite or hearing that tinny rendition of the theme? Pure nostalgia. Just don’t expect a polished masterpiece—this is peak "licensed game chaos."
