Spiritual Warfare is one of those weird, fascinating Genesis games that feels like someone took Zelda and ran it through a Sunday school filter. You play as "Christian" (subtle, right?), wandering around smacking demons with fruit of the spirit while trying to convert NPCs. The whole thing's oddly charming in its awkwardness—like when you realize your main weapon is literally the "armor of God."
Combat's clunky but weirdly satisfying once you get used to it, and the dungeons have that classic top-down puzzle vibe. Some of the enemy designs are unintentionally hilarious—nothing says "spiritual battle" like fighting a giant floating eyeball named Lust. It's janky, preachy, and definitely not for everyone, but there's something oddly compelling about its bizarre mashup of faith and fantasy.
Honestly, it's worth playing just to see how they turned Bible verses into a functional RPG mechanic.
