Separation Anxiety came out for the Sega Genesis in 1995, developed by Software Creations. It was part of that wave of licensed games based on the popular Spider-Man comics and cartoons of the time. You got to play as either Spider-Man or Venom, which was a big deal back then, especially since the Genesis already had a solid Maximum Carnage game. You control your character through levels that scroll from left to right, fighting off waves of symbiote-infected enemies. A signature mechanic is the two-player simultaneous co-op, where a friend can jump in as the other hero. You also collect health and web power-ups, and the game is known for its relentless pace and high difficulty, with enemies swarming you constantly. It feels like a chaotic, button-mashing struggle to survive each stage.
