Remember that old Spider-Man: The Animated Series from the 90s? This Sega Genesis game nails the vibe—you start off swinging between brick buildings with that crunchy 16-bit web sound effect, and it just feels right. The first level throws you straight into a rooftop chase against some goons, and the controls are surprisingly smooth for a Genesis platformer.
What I love is how they worked in little details from the show, like the way Spidey flips when he jumps or how Kingpin actually looks like his cartoon version. The wall-crawling takes some getting used to (you’ll faceplant a few times), but once you get the rhythm down, zipping across the city while dodging robot drones never gets old.
Fair warning: Some of the later levels get brutal—I still have nightmares about that sewer stage with the instant-kill lasers. But nailing a perfect swing combo over a bottomless pit? Pure satisfaction. If you grew up with the show or just love classic superhero games, this one’s a solid time capsule.
