Remember that old-school Spider-Man game on Sega Genesis? The one where you start off just swinging between these weirdly blocky New York buildings, then suddenly some dude in a jetpack starts shooting at you? Yeah, that one.
It’s janky in that classic 90s way—sometimes you’ll overshoot a swing and faceplant into a wall, and the web mechanics take a second to get used to. But once you get the rhythm down, there’s something weirdly satisfying about thwipping around, dropping kick combos on thugs, and dodging those annoying pumpkin bombs. The boss fights are the real highlight—Electro’s a pain until you figure out his pattern, and Venom? Absolute chaos.
It’s not the prettiest or smoothest Spider-Man game now, but back then? Felt like being the actual webhead. Just don’t expect any quips—this Spidey’s all business.
