Speed Ball 2 ā Brutal Deluxe is basically cyberpunk rugby with zero rules and way too much elbow grease. You start off thinking itās just a simple futuristic sports gameāuntil some armored goon slams your player into the electrified wall and steals the ball. Thatās when it clicks: this isnāt about finesse, itās about throwing punches and scoring by any means necessary.
The controls are simpleāpass, shoot, tackleābut the AI doesnāt mess around. One match in, and youāll be frantically mashing buttons while your team gets pummeled by opponents who clearly didnāt get the memo about sportsmanship. The pixelated chaos is weirdly satisfying, especially when you pull off a last-second goal by bouncing the ball off some poor guyās face.
Itās got that classic Sega Genesis vibeāfast, loud, and just the right amount of jank. If youāre into retro games that donāt hold your hand, this oneās a riot. Just donāt expect to walk away without a few bruises (digitally speaking).
