Sonic Zeta Overdrive Game

Man, Sonic Zeta Overdrive is one of those wild fan-made Sonic games that actually feels like it could've been a lost Genesis classic. The physics are just slightly off in that charming way old-school hacks often are—your spin dash has a weird extra kick to it, and sometimes you'll go flying off loops at unexpected angles. But that kinda adds to the chaos in a fun way.
The levels are packed with alternate paths and weird little secrets—I spent way too long trying to reach this one floating platform that turned out to just have a bunch of rings and no real payoff. Classic Sonic jank. The music's all crunchy Genesis-style synth with a few surprisingly good original tracks mixed in.
If you're into romhacks that aren't afraid to be a little messy, this one's got personality for days. Just don't expect polished modern Sonic controls.
