Okay, so imagine Mario Kart but with Sega characters—Sonic, AiAi from Super Monkey Ball, even freakin’ Billy Hatcher shows up. The drifting feels tight, and nailing a perfect boost out of a slide is stupid satisfying. Each character’s "All-Star Move" is wild—like, Sonic turns into Super Sonic and just plows through everyone, while Amigo from Samba de Amigo summons a giant maraca to smack racers off the track. The DS version obviously doesn’t look as slick as the console ones, but the tracks are still packed with shortcuts and little Sega easter eggs. If you’ve got a soft spot for these characters, it’s a legit good time.
Just don’t expect to win against Shadow. That guy’s a menace.
