Sonic 2 – The Lost Worlds Game

Ever wondered what Sonic 2 could've been if Sega took a few more risks? The Lost Worlds is a wild ROM hack that remixes the classic with new zones, tougher level design, and some seriously creative boss fights. You still get that classic speed, but now there are these weird gravity-defying loops and enemy placements that actually make you think before blasting through.
First time I played, I got wrecked by the first boss because I kept expecting the old patterns. Nope—this thing has its own rhythm. The new levels feel like a mix of Sonic 2’s polish with some Sonic CD-style surrealism. Some of the jumps are brutal, but nailing them feels so good.
If you’ve played the original to death, this is the kind of twist that makes it fresh again. Just don’t blame me when you get stuck in that one spinning maze section.
