Sonic 1 Megamix (v3.0) Game

Ever wish the original Sonic had more characters, levels, and chaos? That’s basically Sonic 1 Megamix in a nutshell. It’s a romhack of the Genesis classic, but stuffed with way more than you’d expect—play as Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, or even Amy, each with their own quirks. The levels get remixed too, with new routes and hidden stuff that makes it feel fresh even if you’ve played the original a hundred times.
First time I booted it up, I went straight for Knuckles—because who doesn’t want to glide and punch through walls? But then I got stuck in Green Hill Zone’s new paths and realized this isn’t just a reskin. Some zones have totally different layouts, and the music swaps between classic and CD tracks. It’s messy in the best way, like someone took everything cool about early Sonic and threw it in a blender.
Fair warning: it’s still janky in spots (romhacks gonna romhack), but if you’ve memorized Sonic 1 and want something unpredictable, this’ll keep you busy. Just don’t blame me when you spend an hour figuring out how to reach that one weirdly placed giant ring.
