Okay, so Soleil (or Crusader of Centy if you're not in Europe) is one of those Genesis RPGs that flew under the radar but absolutely deserves more love. You play as this kid who gets a talking sword—sounds basic, but the twist is you can chat with animals instead of just slashing everything. That changes how you solve puzzles and even fight enemies.

The world’s got that bright, slightly dreamy 16-bit charm—think pastel forests and villages where NPCs actually say weird, memorable stuff. Combat’s simple but satisfying, and the music? Chefs-kiss Sega chiptune magic. It’s got that "Zelda-but-make-it-philosophical" vibe where you’re figuring out whether violence is even the answer. (Spoiler: sometimes it is, because hey, giant spiders.)

Fair warning: the translation’s a little janky in places, but that almost adds to the charm. If you missed this back in the day, it’s a perfect weird little time capsule of 90s RPG experimentation. Just don’t expect a sprawling epic—it’s more like a cozy weekend adventure with existential undertones.
