Snow Bros. on the Genesis is basically Bubble Bobble but with snowmen—and honestly, that’s all I needed to hear. You play as Nick and Tom, these little round dudes who toss snow at enemies to turn them into rolling snowballs, then kick ‘em across the screen to take out everything in their path. The first few levels ease you in, but by stage 3, you’re already dodging bats and hopping between platforms like a snowball-throwing acrobat.
What I love is how chaotic it gets when you’ve got multiple enemies frozen at once—line up the perfect shot, and you can clear half the screen in one satisfying crunch. The music’s got that classic arcade charm too, all bouncy and upbeat, even when you’re getting cornered by yet another pumpkin-headed weirdo. It’s simple, but the co-op mode makes it twice as fun (and twice as messy when your buddy accidentally knocks you off a ledge).
If you’ve ever wished Bubble Bobble had more winter vibes, this is your game.
