Snake Rattle N Roll is one of those weird, bouncy Sega Genesis games that somehow sticks with you. You play as this goofy snake with sneakers (yes, really), slithering around floating islands while chomping little pellets called "Nibbley Pibbleys" to grow longer. The physics are janky in that old-school way—your snake flops around like a wet noodle, but once you get the hang of it, bouncing off enemies and tightroping across gaps feels oddly satisfying.
The levels get seriously chaotic fast, with rolling boulders, spinning platforms, and these annoying little critters that dive-bomb you. I remember getting stuck on the third stage forever because I kept missing jumps—turns out timing your rattlesnake-style coil before leaping helps. The music’s got that classic early ‘90s synth vibe, all bouncy and slightly unhinged, which fits the game perfectly.
It’s not the deepest game, but there’s something charming about its sheer weirdness. If you dig retro platformers with a side of nonsense, this one’s worth a spin.
