Man, Bart's Nightmare is one of those weird, janky Genesis games that somehow sticks with you. You start off with Bart dozing off over his homework (relatable), and then boom—you're tossed into this fever dream of mini-games. One second you're dodging mutant versions of your school lunch, the next you're shrinking down to fight off germs inside Bart's body. It’s all over the place, but in a fun way.
The controls can be a little clunky—good luck nailing those jumps in the Itchy & Scratchy segment—but there’s something charming about how random it all feels. And that soundtrack? Pure early '90s cheese, but it fits perfectly. Just don’t expect it to hold your hand—this one’s all trial and error.
If you’re into weird retro games with personality, this one’s a trip down memory lane—for better or worse.
