RoadBlasters on the Sega Genesis is one of those games that feels like pure arcade chaos crammed into a cartridge. You’re thrown into this weird, neon-drenched wasteland where your car has more guns than a military convoy, and every other driver seems to have a personal grudge against you. The first few minutes are a blur of swerving around oil slicks, dodging missiles, and desperately mashing the fire button while the timer ticks down.
What I love is how it doesn’t bother with a story—just go fast, shoot everything, and try not to explode. The controls are simple (gas, brake, shoot), but the later levels get brutal. One wrong turn and you’re roadkill. The music’s got that classic Sega synth energy, too—like someone remixed a car chase into a soundtrack.
It’s not deep, but it’s the kind of game you play when you just want to turn your brain off and blow stuff up for 20 minutes. Still holds up if you’re into that old-school, no-frills arcade vibe.
