About Revolution X (usa, Europe)
Revolution X came out for the Sega Genesis in 1994, published by Acclaim Entertainment. It was part of that wave of arcade ports trying to capture the light gun experience at home, a common sight on the 16-bit consoles.
You control a cursor on screen, shooting at everything that moves across a series of static levels. Your main goal is to rescue the members of Aerosmith from the oppressive New Order Nation. The signature mechanics are rapid shooting to destroy enemies and projectiles, collecting letters to spell out special attack words, and firing CDs as your primary weapon. The pacing is relentless, with enemies swarming from all sides, and the difficulty can be punishing if your aim falters. It feels like a frantic, noisy arcade session condensed onto your television.
