About Ratatouille (e)
Ratatouille for the Nintendo DS came out in 2007, published by THQ. It was part of that wave of movie tie-in games that were everywhere on the handheld, and it captured the look of the film pretty well on the small screens we had back then.
You play as Remy the rat, navigating through kitchens and other environments from a side-on perspective. The main goal is to progress through various levels, often by solving environmental puzzles and avoiding human chefs who will shoo you away. A couple of the key mechanics involve using the touch screen to stir pots or complete other cooking minigames, and you also control Linguini indirectly by pulling his hair to guide his movements. The pacing is generally steady, with some tricky platforming sections that can trip you up if you're not careful. It feels like a straightforward adventure that lets you step into the movie's world without too much frustration.
