Okay, so Radical Rex is basically the most ridiculous, over-the-top Genesis game you never knew you needed. You play as Rex, a sunglasses-wearing T-Rex who skateboards through jungles, caves, and volcanoes while shooting fireballs at mutant cavemen and pterodactyls. Yeah, it’s exactly as absurd as it sounds.
The first level throws you right into it—Rex ollies over lava pits, grinds on vines like they’re rails, and occasionally stops to roast enemies with his breath. The controls take a second to get used to (his jumps are kinda floaty), but once you get the rhythm, chaining tricks and blasting baddies feels stupidly satisfying. And the soundtrack? Pure 90s cheese, in the best way possible.
It’s not the deepest platformer out there, but who cares? You’re a skateboarding dinosaur. If that doesn’t sell you, nothing will.
