Race Drivin’ on the Genesis is one of those early 3D racers that feels janky now but was mind-blowing back in the day. The polygons are chunky, the physics are weirdly floaty, and that infamous "barrel roll" crash animation never gets old. You’ve got a few different cars to pick from, but honestly, they all handle like you’re driving on ice—which, weirdly, becomes part of the charm.
The tracks loop around with sharp turns and sudden drops, and the game doesn’t hold your hand. Miss a brake check? Enjoy flying off the edge. The cockpit view is cool in theory, but good luck seeing anything with that massive steering wheel blocking half the screen. Still, there’s something satisfying about shaving seconds off your lap times once you learn the quirks. Just don’t expect Forza-level realism.
If you’re into retro racing games with more personality than polish, this one’s a time capsule worth dusting off.
