Race Driver GRID on the DS is one of those racers that actually feels good to play on a handheld. You’ve got a solid mix of cars—everything from nimble tuners to hulking muscle cars—and the tracks have just enough twists to keep you on your toes. The handling’s surprisingly decent for a DS racer, though you’ll definitely need to tweak your braking points on tighter corners.
First race drops you straight into a city circuit, and yeah, you’ll probably scrape a few walls before getting the hang of it. The AI isn’t pushover either—they’ll shove you into barriers if you leave an opening. Graphics won’t blow you away, but the sense of speed is there, especially in cockpit view. If you’ve got a soft spot for portable racing, this one’s worth a few laps.
