RBI Baseball '93 on the Sega Genesis is pure early '90s baseball—fast, arcade-style, and just a little janky in that way old sports games are. The pitching feels stiff at first, but once you get the timing down, you can absolutely paint the corners. Batting’s where it shines though—no complicated button combos, just swing for the fences and pray you connected.
The pixelated players have that classic charm, and the crowd noise is hilariously repetitive (you’ll hear the same three-note cheer for every foul ball). No MLB licenses, so the teams are all generic, but honestly, that just adds to the nostalgia. Played this for hours as a kid, and it still holds up if you’re into that old-school, no-frills baseball vibe. Just don’t expect a deep franchise mode—this is straight-up pick-up-and-play arcade action.
