Quad Challenge is one of those early '90s racers that somehow makes bouncing around on a quad bike feel both janky and weirdly satisfying. You start off sliding all over the place—mud, sand, those annoying little rocks—and for the first few races, you’ll probably eat dirt more than you’d like. But once you get the hang of the weighty handling, it clicks.

The tracks are short but brutal, with tight turns and jumps that’ll send you flying if you don’t brake at the right second. Graphics are bright and chunky in that classic Genesis way, and the music’s got that upbeat, slightly grating synth vibe. Not gonna lie, the AI racers cheat like crazy, especially on later courses, but beating them anyway feels like a legit victory.

It’s not the deepest racer out there, but there’s something about the way it controls that makes you want to shave off just one more second from your time. If you dig old-school arcade-style racing with a side of frustration, this one’s worth a spin.
