Power Drive is one of those weird little racing games that somehow sticks with you. It’s not flashy, but there’s something oddly satisfying about the way your car slides around corners—feels more like drifting than precision driving. The tracks are packed with shortcuts and alternate routes, so you’ll spend half the time bouncing off walls and the other half discovering hidden paths you swear weren’t there last lap.
The European version has a few extra tracks compared to the US release, plus support for multiple languages if you’re into that. Graphics are basic, even for the Genesis, but the music’s got that classic early ‘90s synth vibe. Not gonna lie, the AI drivers can be brutal—they love shoving you into barriers at the worst possible moment.
If you’re into old-school arcade racers with a bit of jank, this one’s worth a few laps. Just don’t expect it to play fair.
