Pokémon Z2 is a Silver ROM hack that tweaks the original game just enough to feel fresh without losing that classic Johto vibe. You still start in New Bark Town, but the wild Pokémon mixes are different—I ran into a Houndour before the first gym, which never happens in the regular version. The level curve’s a bit smoother too, so you’re not stuck grinding for hours before Clair.

Some of the trainer teams got shuffled around, and there are a few new movesets that keep battles from feeling too predictable. Nothing crazy like mega evolutions or anything, just small, thoughtful changes. Oh, and the rival’s team actually puts up a fight now. I lost to him at least twice before Violet City.

If you’ve played Silver to death but still want that GBC nostalgia, this one’s a solid pick. Just don’t expect a total overhaul—it’s more like a polished version of the game you already love.
