Pokémon Tanero is a Yellow hack that tweaks the original just enough to feel fresh without losing that classic Game Boy charm. You still start with Pikachu following you around, but the wild encounters and trainer battles are shuffled—I ran into a Growlithe before Brock, which never happens in the regular version. Some movesets are different too, so your usual strategies might not work here.

The graphics are mostly the same, but there are a few subtle changes, like altered sprites here and there. Nothing crazy, but enough to make you double-take. If you’ve played Yellow a hundred times and want something that feels familiar but still surprises you, this is a solid pick.
