Pokémon Obscure is a Gold hack that throws you into a weird, offbeat version of Johto—like if someone remade the original game after too much coffee. The starters are different (good luck picking), wild Pokémon show up in places they shouldn’t, and some of the sprites look like they were drawn at 3 AM. Not gonna lie, the first gym had me sweating—trainers actually use strategy here.

It’s got that classic GBC vibe but with enough tweaks to keep you guessing. Some routes feel familiar, then suddenly you’re battling a level 20 Pidgeot before Falkner. Weirdly addictive once you get past the jank.
